About Us
In the early part of July, 1994, Marilyn had a vision about opening a soup kitchen. Gary said he didn’t hear her tell him about her vision, so God gave the same vision to him the first of August, and the vision became a reality November 1, 1994.
For about 15 years The Main Street Mission, Inc. (MSMI) has been the only facility feeding meals to the hungry in Pope, Yell, and Johnson counties of Arkansas. Seven days a week we have provided 254,168 hot meals and short-term shelter for homeless families and women with children. We are one of the prime locations that provide food boxes at no charge to people unable to care for themselves because of financial problems.
